Dan Jackson and Ian White (Jackson & White, 2018) have launched a thoughtful and potentially far‐reaching examination of assumptions that lie hidden in methods of meta‐analysis, often as a trap for the unwary. I am grateful for the invitation to make a brief contribution to the discussion.
