The vision of the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences (QHS) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is to improve population and individual health by transforming health care delivery through methodological innovation and to become a nationally and internationally recognized resource for translational research. The Department has a three-pronged mission: (1) to fulfill the quantitative health science needs of the academic medical center as it moves towards its vision of becoming a leader in clinical and translational research; (2) to train the next generation of scientists that will fulfill the Vision; and (3) to weave service to the academic medical center into discovery of new approaches to solve the health care needs of the nation and world.
