This issue brief, prepared by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Brain Injury Academic Interest Group (BI-AIG), focuses on raising awareness about the extent of this problem both nationwide and among the veteran population. The impact of brain injuries on individuals and their families, as well as treatment challenges, are discussed. Goals of the BI-AIG and a resource list that has been compiled for providers, researchers and individuals with brain injuries are listed.
