The mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is to be the preeminent Department of Emergency Medicine in the country by delivering excellent healthcare, with respect and dignity to all patients needing emergent or urgent care services; conducting ground breaking research that enhances public health; and developing innovative educational programs for all levels of health care providers.
