In July 2010, the University of Massachusetts received a $20 million NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA Grant # UL1TR000161) to create the University of Massachusetts Center for Clinical and Translational Science (UMCCTS), an academic home for clinical and translational science. The goal of the UMCCTS is to move laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients, to engage communities in clinical research, and to train a new generation of researchers. Through the center, we will facilitate greater efficiency and productivity of UMass investigators across campuses to enhance the public’s health. The monthly UMCCTS Seminar Series provides its members with presentations about resources, funding opportunities, and educational training in the principles and practices of clinical and translational research.
