The UMass Worcester Prevention Research Center (PRC) is committed to addressing the burden and costs attributable to obesity in Worcester, MA and across the United States. Founded in 2009 as part of the CDC's Prevention Research Center Network, our goal is to develop local solutions to the obesity epidemic that can have national impact. We achieve this goal by conducting applied prevention research, building capacity of public health and community organizations to address the obesity epidemic, and training the next generation of applied prevention researchers. This work is accomplished through partnerships with public health, community and clinical partners. For more information on the UMass Worcester PRC, visit: www.umassmed.edu/prc.
